Z -- Z1DA--NRM-CONST 528A8-22-860 PNEUMATIC TUBE COMPLETION SOL 36C24225Q0701 DUE 06/30/2025 at 10:00AM -04:00 POC Michael A Spivack, MICHAEL.SPIVACK@va.gov Project Name: Translogic SwissLog Pneumatic Tube Expansion Albany Stratton VA Medical Center Swiss Log Customer Number: 11828 GENERAL The intent of this scope of work is for the General Contractor to provide all materials, labor, supplies, tools and transportation necessary to modify the location of the pneumatic tube receiving station in the 2C Operating Room Suite area as indicated on the attached sketch and further defined below. The General Contractor shall also commission, test and activate the pneumatic tube system between the 2C operating room suite pneumatic and the existing 3B Lab pneumatic station of the Albany VA Medical Center 113 Holland Avenue, Albany NY 12208. Work shall include mobilization and setup, demolition to include removal of a dumbwaiter shaft, the installation of SwissLog/Translogic pneumatic tubing to complete the existing system and training of medical center staff on operating the system. SwissLog/TransLogic shall furnish labor, materials, supplies, engineering and system start-up required for a complete and operating materials distribution system in accordance with the drawings, specifications and description of work contained herein and project documents as referenced below. SwissLog/TransLogic shall provide personnel and any required materials to provide three 4-hour training on the use, service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system. All work shall be completed within 180 days of receipt of a Notice to Proceed. Due to the location of the work being performed near Operating and recovery rooms, approximately 75% of the work (what tasks?) shall be performed on a weekend chosen by the VA behind a series of containment barriers. See attached weekend containment scenario drawing for details and specifications. The testing, commissioning and other minor work to complete the pneumatic tube installation shall be performed during normal business hours Monday Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. SCOPE OF WORK: General Contractor shall provide all labor and material for: Prepare work enclosure per Infection Control Plan requirements on sheet A-100. Work enclosureshall be a prefabricated wall system, STARC or approved equal. Pre Fab Containment system to be given to VA Albany hospital when project is complete. Selectively demolish wallboard, corner guard, handrail/wall protection, vinyl sheet wall protection panels, ACT ceiling and other items necessary to remove the existing dumbwaiter equipment, wiring, and framing support system in its entirety. Remove and dispose all materials in accordance with VA requirements. Install new framing support for the receiving station in accordance with manufacturer s recommendations and requirements. The VA shall provide the following materials, the constractor shall be responsible for providing all other materials.Available Existing Materials: One Swisslog receiving station assembly with finish frame Three 10 sections of 6 diameter steel pipe Two - 45º long sweeps One short bend sweep One box of unistrut hangers One box loop hangers One box couplings One roll of sealing tape Install new wallboard, corner guard, handrail/wall protection vinyl sheet wall protection panels, ACT ceiling and other items necessary. The transition between existing and new is to appear seamless. Framing and wallboard installation must maintain the 2-hour fire rating around the nearby steel column. Any existing penetrations in the enclosure are to be filled or patched as part of this scope. The installation of the pneumatic tube receiving station is contract work and should be performed at an appropriate time per contract drawings and specifications. Paint all newly installed wallboard and joint covering material per project specifications. Match color to existing. Finish the painting process prior to installing corner guard, handrail/wall protection and/or rigid vinyl sheet wall protection panels. Install new handrail/wall protection. Use InPro Door and Wall Protection Systems, Model 800, or approved equivalent. Match existing color. Install per manufacturer s instructions. Install new corner guard on outside edges. Use InPro Door and Wall Protection Systems, Model 150BN BluNose high-impact corner guard or approved equivalent. Install from cove base to the bottom of the ceiling grid. Match existing color. Install per manufacturer s instructions. Note that this is a different style than is shown on contract drawing A-117. Install rigid vinyl sheet wall protection on new walls and extend to nearest intersecting wall. Match existing thickness, color and height. Install trim pieces from the same manufacturer as vinyl sheets. Install trim so that no edge of the sheet is visible. Install inside corner trim at intersection of new and old work closest to the double door entrance to the OR Suite. Install per manufacturer s instructions using a low-VOC, low-odor adhesive. Install new vinyl cove base. Match existing style and color. Perform start-up on the completed system and make it fully operational. Computer equipment is located in the 3rd floor laboratory. It has not been uncrated. A new computer may be necessary based on the date of original purchase. There shall be no connection to the VA computer network. The existing system is not networked. Dedicated control cables are run to the existing components. Only the cabling to the OR station remains incomplete. The current end is within 20 of the proposed location. Power cabling is also run to within 20 of the proposed station. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with applicable Project 528A8-10-801 Consolidate Labs on 3B drawings and specifications issued under VA Contract VA528-14-C-0064. Note that all work in the 2C OR Suite area is to be performed after hours, which is between 1630H and 0600H. Refer to the notes on sheet A-115 for additional contract work information including infection control and scheduling requirements. The Contractor shall coordinate other related trades to accomplish this work. AUTODESK BUILD CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT PLATFORM: The Contractor shall utilize VISN 2 Autodesk Build Construction management platform, also called Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC). Access to the platform and training portal will be provided by VISN 2 through project Contracting Officer Representative (COR) at no cost for the duration of the project. Autodesk Build is the management and collaborative environment that VISN 2 uses for all its Non-Recurring Maintenance (NRM), Minor Program projects, Feasibility Studies, Commissioning and Retro-Commissioning contracts. There is no user, license, or subscription fee to the contractor for using this cloud-based platform. The Contractor shall accomplish and complete the following tasks upon award of contract: Request access to ACC platform and ProductivityNOW eLearning Site to project VA COR within 14 days of contract award. Only staff that shall utilize the platform to be granted access. Examples: Project manager, sub-contractors POC, Site manager, Safety officer, etc. The access request shall be in writing and include a list of staff. The list shall include the following information: Full Name Company Name Email Address Role/Position on the project (i.e., Project manager, site super) Contractor staff granted access to the ACC platform shall complete ACC training through ProductivityNOW eLearning platform and provide certificates of completion to COR within 12 Calendar days of access being granted. Initial access to ProductivityNOW eLearning platform shall expire after 12 Calendar days after online access is granted. Additional Staff and Subcontractors can be added at any time with a request submission to the project COR. The contractor shall only use the ACC platform for contract required submissions, official project correspondence to be acknowledged, reviewed, and actioned by the responsible party. No additional time shall be added to the contract, nor an increase in contract amount be provided for the contractor s failure to utilize the ACC platform as the project s official communication and collaboration system. Any correspondence out of platform shall not be the governing authority contradicting direction and will be at the contractor s expense. Official project correspondence and collaboration includes but not limited to: RFIs, submittals, schedules, shutdown requests, actionable tasks, reports, testing, safety inspections, photos, and site surveys. Contractor shall inform the COR of any staff changes within 2 business days from the change. Staff changes pertains to staff granted access to the ACC platform. Contractor shall request termination of access, replacement of personnel and/or any other action that might impact the contractor ability to maintain required utilization of the platform. Contractor submission requirements cannot be accepted for work to begin without meeting all ACC Platform requirements outlined herein, including completing required ACC platform training.
