The Oklahoma City Area Indian Health Service intends to issue an Invitation for Bid (IFB) and subsequently award a single Firm-Fixed-Price contract for construction for the replacement of existing exterior/interior doors, sidelights, and transoms for four (4) existing vestibules at the Haskell Indian Health Center located at 2415 Massachusetts Street, Lawrence, KS 66046.
The Contractor shall provide all personnel, facilities, materials, and equipment required to complete the project. Work will include the following:
- The interior and exterior doors shall be 42” wide to accommodate gurneys used by EMS and wide wheelchairs.
- All exterior doors shall have a full window/daylight panel measuring approximately 34”x 69” and be UL 752 Level 5 bullet resistant glazing or equivalent.
- All exterior glazing (door, transom, sidelights, exterior vestibule) shall be UL 752 Level 5 bullet resistant glazing or equivalent, except where noted in the scope of work. Interior glazing (door, transom, sidelights) shall be ¼” tempered glass.
- The northwest corner of the building has an existing metal and glass vestibule protruding from the building measuring approximately 36” out from the building and 64” wide. The (2) panes of glass on the exterior vestibule measure approximately 30”x 90”. These panes of glass shall be replaced with UL Level 5 bullet resistant glazing or equivalent. Within this vestibule there shall be a left hand reverse exterior door measuring 42”x 84”. The transom window shall be 4”x 42” and shall be 1/4” tempered glass. The interior door, leading from the vestibule to the Pediatric/Behavior Health (north) hallway, shall be a left hand reverse door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 8” x 100” and a transom measuring approximately 16” x 42”.
- The far west entryway leading to the Medical Staff hallway shall have a left hand reverse exterior door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 14”x 100”and a transom measuring approximately 16”x 42”. The interior door shall be a left hand reverse door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 15”x 100” and a transom measuring approximately 16”x 42”.
- The south/southwest entryway in the breezeway between the Main Building and Wellness Center shall have a right hand reverse exterior door measuring 42”x 84” with (1) sidelight measuring approximately 13”x 101” and a transom measuring approximately 17”x 42”. The interior door shall be a right hand reverse door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 5”x 100” and a transom measuring approximately 16”x 42”.
- The south entryway near the kitchen shall have a left hand reverse exterior door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 15”x 100” and a transom measuring approximately 17”x 42”. The interior door shall be a left hand reverse door measuring 42”x 84” with (2) sidelights measuring approximately 15”x 100” and a transom measuring approximately 16”x 42”.
- Contractor shall coordinate with the facility’s existing Secure Access Control provider (Cam-Dex Security Corp.) to remove and replace the wires, card readers, and electronically operated door strikes back to original locations or as close as possible for all replaced doors. Card readers and strikes shall be in good working order before starting on the next exterior door for security purposes and to justify egress.
- Door and window frames shall be black anodized aluminum and match the fit and finish of the current frames.
- All doors, interior and exterior, shall be equipped with a commercial grade LCN door closer, panic bar, heavy-duty continuous hinge with threshold, and lock keyed to the facility master key.
- All exterior doors, sidelights and transoms shall be tinted with a mirror tint that is reflective when viewed from the exterior. In addition, the same tint shall be applied to the front (east), exterior, automatic sliding door entrance. Tinting shall be minimum of 35% shade.
- All (4) exterior doors shall be equipped with awnings that span the width of the exterior frame to cover persons entering and exiting the building. The awnings shall be black anodized aluminum (or equivalent metal) to match the fit and finish of the exterior frames. The awnings shall not extend more than 36” away from the building. All awnings shall be equipped with gutters and downspouts to divert water away from the building.
This acquisition is a 100% Indian Small Business Economic Enterprise. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 236220 and the small business size standard is $45 million. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the magnitude of this project is currently estimated to be between $100,000 and $250,000. The estimated project completion date is approximately January 2025.
Contractor registration in the Government’s System for Award Management (SAM) is mandatory in order to be eligible for contract award. Registration may be completed and information regarding the registration process may be obtained at www.sam.gov.
The anticipated release date of the solicitation package is on or about June 05, 2025, with bids being due on or about July 05, 2025.
Once issued, solicitation documents will be available electronically for download at www.sam.gov. All responsible sources may submit a bid and will be considered by Indian Health Service.
